Yeah, I'm spending about thirty minutes of my time to write something I don't care about. Anyways, here it goes.
Communication
When role playing, it's pretty easy to see that your character needs to talk. Please don;t make him/her a mute, because that would really suck... Anyways, to talk you need to put " before and after the phrase. Example:
"What do we do?" Starfire whispered.
Okay, if your charry was a mute, then there would be no speaking but not just movement either. But to think, just put your words between a code.
Italics = Wrong Thing To Do
Bold = Right Thing To Do
Power Playing
Power playing is when you take control of someone's character without really asking them. I will give a quick example.
Tigercatcher leaped at Starfire, hoping to pin her down.
Starfire backs up and scratches Tigercatcher in the eye, making him blind. Then she bent over and sunk her teeth into his throat. Tigercatcher was dead.
NO POWER PLAYING!
Now here is the right way to go.
Tigercatcher leaped into the air and came down, hoping to pin Starfire down to the floor.
Starfire dodged-just barely, for she felt his claws whizzing past her right shoulder. Starfire aimed a blow at Tigercatcher's face.
NO POWER PLAYING!!!
Godmodding
Godmodding usually happens in a battle, when they other player is trying to hurt you or is attacking, and you don't take it seriously. Here is a little example.
Tigercatcher prowled closer and closer to Starfire, then ran full speed at her, hissing furiously.
Starfire sat down on the ground, digging her claws into the grass and sniffing flowers. She started to think about her place in the universe.
NO GODMODDING!!!
As you could see, it would easily hurt someone's feelings. So here is the right way, which is regular role playing.
Tigercatcher prowled closer and closer to Starfire, then ran full speed at her, hissing furiously.
Starfire was sitting down until she was bowled over by Tigercatcher. She struggled to get out from under him, but the muscled cat was too heavy.
How To Actually Role Play
Now I bet a lot of you don't even know how to role play. Here is a simple little lesson, okay?
SIMPLE ROLE PLAYING
Simple role playing is for newbies who just want people to know what they're doing, and not make it detailed. Here is an example.
*walks to Venomstar*When is the battle?*she asks*
SEMI LITERATE
Semi literate is not with the little marks, but it's also not that short. here is an example.
Starfire was worried. The battle was almost breathing down her neck, and it frightened her. She slowly walked over to Venomstar, "When is the battle?" She asked, her mind whirling with battle training that she was taught. This battle would be her first as a warrior!
LITERATE
Literate is the longest type of role playing. It ranges from two to like-a bazillion paragraphs! Here is an example!
She didn't want to except it, but she was also excited. Starfire was feeling an indescribable feeling-the feeling before a battle. Currently, her eyes were closed, and Starfire was thinking. Would she come out alive? Would she be a hero? Would a friend be killed? So maybe this feeling was worry.
Starfire would confront Venomstar, maybe knowing when the battle occurred would ease her feelings.
Her paws slowly took her to Venomstar, who was apparently nibbling on a vole. He looked up at her. Starfire took a deep breath.
But she couldn't ask him, not yet at least. Her tail swished around the ground for just a few moments. Her green eyes were clouded with worry, pure worry. But she would ask.
"Venomstar? When is the battle taking place?"
