Fishing...

[Earthstar]

I swam silently out into the ocean. If I flattened my ears and folded my paws, fish and other underwater creatures thought me as a small toy boat or a large duck.

I narrowed my eyes to slits and shoved my chin into my chest. I stared down into the clear blue water. Fish flitted around me, not noticing I was a cat. A fish came dangerously close and I flashed out my paw, catching it hard. It was stunned for a few moments in which I flipped it out of the ocean and struck it hard. It landed, belly-up, in the water. All the other fish were swimming towards shore.

I curled my lip. Perfect.

Holding the fish I'd caught, I swam to shore and waited for the fish to come close. They thought the maniac fish-killer was back there.

Pretty soon, a school of fish clustered by the sand.

I flashed out another a paw and scooped a fish onto the ground. It flopped about and I dealt my death blow. I picked up both my catches, feeling pretty pleased with myself.

I watched Earthstar from the strawberry bush.

I didn't know what a strawberry was, but it looked like the red berries that grew on the bush. Maybe we could store that for the winter, or maybe it might be a useful medicine, or maybe even bait for birds or something.

I reminded myself to mention that to Earthstar.

Oh, yeah, Earthstar. She was amazing. She caught two fish in a row without breaking a sweat! (I just remembered that we're supposed to be like RiverClan.)

(-_- Oh, JUST remembered.)

I turned around then sniffed the air. It was hard with fish dangling from my jaw, because I mainly smelled fish. I also scented the faint trace of another cat...oh, it was just Rosemist. I dropped the two fish and walked over to a strawberry bush. It wasn't moving, but I could definitely scent Rosemist now. "Hello."

[Rosemist]

(Yeah! I thought we were Thunderclan. And you spelled definitely wrong.)

I popped (lol almost wrote "pooped'') my head out of the bush. "Greetings, Earthstar!" I jumped out of the bush and turned to face Earthstar. "I think we can eat those red berries on that bush I was hiding in." I gestured to it with my tail.

(happy? I'm too lazy to turn on the lights in here, so it's like typing with my eyes closed!)

I glanced at the strawberries. "What're they called again?"

[Rosemist]

(yep!)

"I think they're called strawberries." I said uncertainly. "I'm not sure, but they're edible. I've seen them when I was a..." I trailed off.

[Earthstar]

I tilted my head. "When you were a what?" I questioned.

[Rosemist]

I hated this subject, but I haven't heard anyone challenge me of it yet. "When-before I joined the clan..." I sighed. "I was a kittypet. Yes, I lived in two-leg houses and let them pet me. But, it was the right decision leaving my two-legs. I have more freedom here, and more to live for. But I do miss my sister."

[Earthstar]

I gaze softened. "No one will label you kittypet now. You're deputy of SummerClan, and once I die you'll be leader." I blinked slowly. "Just curious..." I started slowly, "why you left your twolegs?"

[Rosemist]

"Well, you know when you do something stupid, and it turns out to be a great thing? Well, I got mad just because my sister, Cherry, bet that I couldn't survive in the wild. So to prove her wrong, I left to achieve that bet."

[Earthstar]

(I already read it when you first posted it, but Earthstar doesn't know.)

"You won that bet."

[Rosemist]

(Oh. Well, poop. Don't answer.)

I smiled. "Yes, I did. But I'm not going back to two-leg place now."

[Earthstar]

I stretched. "I guess we should better go back to camp now. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about you being a kittypet."

[Rosemist]

I nodded. "Thanks." I started padding towards the camp.

[Earthstar]

I picked up the two fish I caught and followed her.
